Our Urban Arks are hand crafted to the highest of standards by trained wood workers and our timber is sourced locally in lumber mills stocked by environmentally regulated forestry. - Our Arks are built using pressure treated timber from managed forestry and are lined to prevent draughts and drips. The Ark is raised so as to provide a dry feeding area underneath.
- The wire used for the run is a high quality galvanised welded wire mesh which we is
tailor-made for our Arks.
- The run area is 40 ft.sq. and unlike some smaller Arks, the hens can access every inch.
- The Ark is designed to house up to six hens.
- Cleaning takes just ten minutes – the Ark has a removable floor and you can use old newspapers
to cover it. Once a week simply roll up the newspaper and pop it into your compost bin.
- Kids from the age of six can access all three doors on the Ark. Their favourite is the hand painted
front door – kids love to open this door and watch the hens march down the ladder.
- When opened, the nest box door acts as a shelf for your egg basket.
Optional Extras:
An automatic door closer can be fitted to the front door which can operate on a light
sensor or a timer fitting. Wheels can also be provided which allow the Ark to be moved.
